Replacing Red Meat With Healthy Plant Protein Is Heart Smart

UPI reports researchers have found that when people eat a plant-based diet, they have a reduced risk for cardiovascular disease once they stop eating red meat. Marta Guasch-Ferre, a researcher at Harvard University and study lead author, said in a news released "diets high in red meat versus diets high in other types of foods, show that substituting red meat with high-quality protein sources lead to more favorable changes in cardiovascular risk factors".
